SL: "This was an odd one. The album itself is actually a compilation of new songs that I had, and songs recorded for a band I was in briefly in December of 2007 (one of two,) called Dead Exclamation. It was me singing and playing a heavily distorted bass, another friend of mine playing clean bass, and the classic drum machine. Those songs are the ones with the heavy vocals. The clean-vocal songs are all me. Without You started as a song for the other 2007 band, a REALLY glam (we were in drag) punk band called Hollywood Heartthrob, and later ended up as the first official Hit Me First song, too. Songs like Trust Me and Autumn Song were inspired by Simple Plan, whose albums I always tended to re-discover around fall."
